Crossgates, Rothwell, and Colton Chiropractic Clinics sports therapist Matthew Llewellyn

Sports Massage Therapist

Matthew Llewellyn is a dedicated, results-driven Sports Therapist with a strong academic foundation and a passion for delivering high-quality, client-centred care. He holds an MSc in Sports Rehabilitation and Therapy from AECC University College and a BSc in Strength and Conditioning from Leeds Trinity University. As a BASRaT-registered practitioner, Matthew combines academic expertise with extensive hands-on experience across clinical, community, and pitch-side environments.

Matthew has a special interest in injury assessment, exercise-based rehabilitation, and return-to-play protocols, with a strong foundation built through years of clinical and sporting experience. He has been delivering soft tissue therapy for a number of years, using techniques such as deep tissue massage, myofascial release, and trigger point therapy to support recovery and enhance performance. Matthew takes pride in designing rehabilitation programmes that are both functional and adaptable to individual needs, helping clients restore movement, relieve pain, and build long-term resilience. His approach combines manual therapy, progressive exercise, and performance-based strategies to ensure patients not only recover but return stronger and more confident.

Outside of the clinic, Matthew keeps just as active as many of the athletes he works with. He’s a big believer in practicing what he preaches, so you’ll often find him in the gym, out on the pitch playing football, or hitting the road for some long-distance running.
